Beach huts at Hengistbury Head
We are situated only a three minute walk from Avon beach. Avon beach is ideal for all the family. During the summer months you can hire beach huts, deckchairs and canoes. If you enjoy boardsailing, the near by Steamer Point Beach is host to the annual UK National Windsurfing Championships and has designated areas for boardsailing.
Picturesque Mudeford Quay with its lobster pots, old fishermen's cottages and Haven House Inn is situated less than one mile away. It is not only the centre of the local fishing industry, where fresh fish can be bought from the fish stall, but also a beautiful spot to sit and watch the world go by. Here you can catch the ferry to Mudeford Sandbank, a unique spit of land, which adjoins Hengistbury Head, forming a natural barrier between the harbour and the open sea. It is an ideal spot for a relaxing walk and is easily reached by ferry.
The close by Highcliffe Castle is a Grade 1 listed building set in impressive cliff top grounds. The regular exhibitions, events and relaxing attractive grounds will tempt you back time and time again as will the delicious cream teas from the Tea Rooms!
Within a few minutes drive is the centre of Christchurch. Here you can see the ruins of Christchurch castle, Constable's house, and the great priory church.
Bure Farm is the perfect place for exploring Dorset's spectacular coastline and unspoilt countryside. The Dorset coast is spectacular with craggy headlands, rocky inlets and sandy coves. In contrast, the open heathlands, leafy glades and forested enclosures of the New Forest is only a 10 minute drive away.
